In order to keep your home warm and not lose heat, it will need to be insulated to do so.
There are many different types of insulation for the roof,
the main one being the fibre glass insulation which sits on the floor in the roof. Another being Celotex (brand name)thermal insulation which fits into between the rafters for extensive insulation and this also comes in a variety of thicknesses. The thickness needed is determined by the building inspector who works out what sort of u-value is needed to keep the most amount of heat in.
